“Catholics on Call” Guides Young Adults

Every summer, “Catholics On Call,” hosts an annual week-long program at Catholic Theological Union (CTU) in Chicago, an organization founded in part by the Passionists. This experience is designed for women and men (ages 18 to 30) who may be thinking about a life of service in the Church as a lay minister, religious sister or brother, or priest, and those who are undecided and want guidance in determining how God is calling them.

Joyce Hansen, the director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for our Holy Cross Province, provides this reflection.

“If you are ever concerned about the future of the Catholic Church or even the world, just spend some time with the young adults who attend the summer sessions of Catholics on Call (COC).

They are faith-filled, spiritual people who recognize the gifts God has given them and are openly sharing their gifts for the betterment of those around them and around the world. They are willing to sacrifice and spread God’s word through their actions and words. Many of the young people had spent time in developing countries, sharing their life, gifts and faith with the underprivileged in those areas. ”
