Fr. Siby Padinjaredath

Born October 3, 1969, in a small village of South India, Fr. Siby is the youngest of eight children.  He first learned of the Passionists through a friend who had met Fr. Christopher Gibson, C.P., the vocation minister at the time.  He received God’s call early in his life, just after finishing the 10th grade and decided to become a priest.  He entered the Passionist Minor Seminary in Cochin, Kerala in India.  Fr. Siby’s sister also shares in the Religious life as a nun in Mumbai.

After four years of training in the minor seminary, Fr. Siby traveled to Tanzania, East Africa for further study.  He began his Novitiate training two years later in Bangalore followed by four years of training in Theology.  God blessed Fr. Siby with ordination in his parish church on February 14, 1998.

Following his ordination, Fr. Siby was appointed as associate pastor in a coastal parish of the Passionists in Kerala.  After two years of serving the poor fishing community in the parish, Fr. Siby completed a course in pastoral counseling and Religious Formation in Pune.  For the past six years, he has been in charge of the formation of the minor seminary students in Kerala.  He also continues to assist at neighboring community parishes.
