Let us Go up to the House of the Lord: Dwelling in the Heart of God

"Welcome home" is one of the most heartwarming greetings we can receive. Everyone needs a place to call home, dwelling where we are loved and embraced for who we are. We recall those comforting words of Jesus, "In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. I am going to prepare a place for you." [John 14:2] The house, then, be it the splendor of a mansion or the cardboard box of the homeless, has become one of the most endearing symbols and realities of the human heart. In fact, for Jesus, it is the human heart that is his home.

Jesus promised he would send the Spirit to dwell in the hearts of all people. We invite you to nurture a new appreciation of this precious gift of God within your own heart. The Spirit encourages us to realize, experience, and celebrate the indwelling of God in the depths of our being. God, who cannot be contained by the universe, is pleased to dwell, to be at home, in our hearts.

Come with us as we go up to the house of the Lord. We will journey through that mansion of compassion and loving-kindness. Welcomed at the door, transformed at the table, blessed by the Spirit, our retreat will celebrate the home-coming we hope will someday be ours as Jesus himself has promised.

I rejoiced when I heard them say, let us go to the house of the Lord. ~Psalm 122

Come and joyfully celebrate a weekend of grace at Christ the King!
