Awakened Hearts: Encountering Christ on the Way 

"Two of them were going to a village called Emmaus… Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him."  The Road to Emmaus, St. Luke 24

A group of retreatants and the Pastoral Preaching Team gathered together and shared to prepare for the theme for the new retreat season and while there were a lot of issues there was always an underlying theme, opening our lives to God’s will and word. In our journey of life’s ups and downs and its stresses, we are invited to pause and be in contact with our God in prayer.

The book we will be reflecting on is The Road to Emmaus-Pilgrimage as a Way of Life by Jim Forest.
