April 9, 2010
The Passionist Partners met Friday April 9th at St. Albert’s Hall in the Cathedral in Nashville. The meeting featured fellowship, planning, and delicious pizza from DaVinci’s (a delicious invention of his?). Rick Hoelzel will be accompanying Ken Schmitt to Chicago in the fall to meet some of the Passionist leadership, and it was announced that there will be the Ordination to the Priesthood of Enno Dango, C.P. and the Ordination to the Diaconate of Hugo R. Esparza-Perez, C.P. and Michael Rowe, C.P. in Chicago on May 22, 2010. Plans made included a May meeting at St. Albert’s hall, a June mass, a presentation on social justice and commitment to read the Confraternity together and to discuss it over the course of the next months. The precarious balance between programming large-scale events that draw people in and small, intimate events which allow time for people to meaningfully enjoy each other was discussed, as was our chapter’s abundance of musicians. A proposal was made to share a in-depth study of the mass made available by the Knights of Columbus, a proposal also of bringing in interested prospective members from St. Stephens Church as well as a proposal seeking opportunities to present the Passionist message to Catholic churches, schools and groups. The meeting concluded with prayers to the faithful, during which Barbara wished to thank the Passionists for prayers answered.
