“It is the purpose and direction of Life. It is the way I listen, speak, and respond to others; the way I walk. It is the purpose and direction of the pilgrimage of this life. I suffer because I do not integrate it enough, or breathe it enough, or make enough room for it. In the whispers of the day, God nourishes us, Jesus looks into us. Having once shared the way of Passionists years ago, I am still deeply moved when I see them, read about them, and hear of them. Fr. Alex opened the Passionist heart to me in the early 1970s and I am grateful still. I may sometimes be lost in the woods, but like today, Jesus’ Passion summons me from within and without.”
