“We are promised resurrection. I find hope in the Paschal Mystery. I know that the God who was betrayed, who suffered and died, is there in the midst of my pain. God takes all the anger I have to dish out, and when my anger is spent, God puts an arm around my shoulders and leads me on. When I am out of strength or patience or wisdom, God is always there to offer me more. When I walk with God, I will not receive everything I want, but I will receive everything I need. No matter how black the night, no matter how deep the tomb, no matter how impossible the situation seems, when I walk through it with Jesus, somehow, some way, our God will bring resurrection out of it. We are not promised an easy road. We are not promised wealth, health, or old age. We are promised resurrection. That is, indeed, good cause for hope.”
