“Build a meaningful relationship to God. As a child, pleasing adults gave meaning to my life. The opinions of those who had power over me meant everything. As a student, a new employee, a young married woman, and a young adult in church; what my teachers, bosses, spouse, and fellow church-goers thought and taught gave meaning to my world-and my heart was very restless.

I decided to learn more. Church dogma, bible study, psychology and philosophy became my new masters-and my heart was very restless. I was looking for meaning in the wrong places.

Passionists pointed my feet toward the right path. Spiritual direction gave me the tools I needed to build a meaningful relationship with God. Belonging to God gives me the peace the world could not give-and cannot take away. It helps to have companions on the journey, because striving to keep the Great Commandments is counter-cultural and often lonely.”
