“Keeping alive the memory of the Passion. I can certainly find meaning in many things. However, I can find meaning in my life only a self-understanding and mutual relationships with God, other people, and nature. Moreover, I find meaning in everything that I like to do for the good of myself and others. Hence, to find meaning in my life means to do whatever I like to do in relation to others and for their well being. Life meaning is found in the living commitment and response to our Christian vocation, which is all about carrying out Christ’s mission to serve God’s reign of justice and peace.

As a Passionist, this meaning in Christ’s mission is specifically found in the active expression of our charism, which is about keeping alive the memory of the Passion of Jesus Christ through the specific ministry or ministries of my life, which are in relation to all people, especially the poor, the oppressed, and the suffering, of our world. Meaning is also found in the integrity of all God’s creation. Thus, life meaning is and should be found in the service to God’s reign of justice, peace, and integrity of creation. To find meaning in all this, however, I should start to find meaning in my own life, since I cannot give what I do not have, and find in other what I have not found in myself, which is the goodness and fullness of God’s love. Such is the essence and meaning of our Christian vocation.”
