“Knowing there is something greater than me at work here. There is a purpose to my existence and to everything I do and that purpose, while beyond me and my meager contributions, includes me and all that I do. I consider this to be God. The ultimate and all encompassing purpose for all that is. This is particularly meaningful for me when I consider the temporary state of my present existence.

This meaning is further fulfilled when I consider my role as only a part of one great redemptive purpose for all and with all of creation. My own family and children are part of a larger unit of this participation with God’s salvific plan. My religious community expresses another broader dimension of this purpose at work in creation. By focusing on the faith dimension of Christ’sPassion we are promoting the redemptive quality inherit in this portion of the Gospel message. It is not meaningful for me to have an individual faith that is divorced from my social interactions and ministry. A meaningful faith must be social as well as personal.”
