“Thank Him in meaningful prayer.”
Marlo Serritella, 2.29.08
“Thank Him in meaningful prayer. I think humility forces us to admit that we will never be able to thank God enough for what He has given us. And so expressing our thanks to God takes constant effort, lest we become complacent in this area. I think, simply, one way to start is by telling Him of our thanks in deep and meaningful prayer-not just the prayers of thanks that we participate in at Mass, but in a very intimate dialogue with Him. I find a posture of reverence, such as kneeling is often helpful to foster this kind of conversation of thanks. That is just the beginning of course. Being thankful to God is loving Him and by extension, loving our neighbor. Remember what God has forgiven of us and do the same to your neighbor. That is how we repay God.”
